The 2015 NCAA Wrestling Tournament: Who will win? I will tell you!

Tell you that I have no idea! The team race is too close to call!

Yes things are shaping up to be a proverbial barnburner. Iowa has been the favorite for most of the year, according to the rankings and polls, but a resounding loss to Missouri in the National Duals and a tie with Ohio St for Big Ten Tournament title planted more than a few seeds of doubt among the pundits and prognosticators.

Based on the NCAA Tournament seeds, Iowa is still projected as slight favorites, but it won’t be easy (or if it will be easy it will make for an equally memorable tournament). A glance at the team point matrix (based on made up points on reverse seed, 16 for 1st, 15 for 2nd, etc), by weight class may help bring the championship race into focus.

Zeros represent qualified but unseeded wrestlers. Blank cells mean no wrestler qualified.

Still no idea who is going to win but now at least we can see how all the contenders stack up, weight by weight.

Almost time for first whistle!
